I was brought up in Gosforth and trained as an undergraduate at Barts in London. I did my GP training in the North East.

I have a keen interest in teaching and training, both undergraduates and postgraduates, and I am a Training Programme Director on the Northumbrian General practice Training Scheme. My other main professional interest outside GP is Occupational Medicine. I am married to another local GP and have 2 sons and 3 dogs.

Mb BCH BAO DRCOG, MRCGP DOccMED, Trained in Belfast, Qualified in 1986 (Partner). I qualified in Belfast in 1986 and moved to Newcastle in 1987 where I have lived and worked since I have been a GP at Roseworth since 1996.

I spend 50% of my week as a GP which includes working as a GP Advisor to Newcastle Hospitals Foundation Trust. I spend the other 50% working in Occupational Health in a variety of settings.

I'm interested in cult films and TV, Triumph TR7s and staying fit by running, cycling and going to the gym.

I'm married with 3 daughters.

Outside of work I like to keep active with my main passion being sport. I play both football and tennis regularly and in the summer I enjoy getting out on my bike.

I Studied at Newcastle University and graduated in 2010. Before entering GP training I spent several years doing general medicine and working in palliative care, an area in which I am hugely passionate. Outside of work I spend my time being a mum and running around after my young daughters.

GP Registrar

Originally from Manchester and studied at Leeds prior to moving to the North East in 2012. Prior to GP training, I was an A&E Doctor in the region.  I have worked in GP surgeries in Newcastle and Gateshead as well as palliative care and mental health services.    

In my spare time I like to watch football, travel and do DIY projects. I also have a dog, 2 guinea pigs and a tortoise.

Hobbies include: travelling, making model planes and I am an avid fan of the Boston Red Socks.

The nurses provide full clinical and nursing support, including chronic disease management, such as asthma care, smears, family planning, child health and travel vaccinations.

Tracey is our Health Care Assistant, she specialises in phlebotomy, health checks, ECG's, Cardiovascular reviews, suture removals, seasonal flu & pneumonia jabs.

Tracey has been at Roseworth for over 10 years and started her career in Reception.

Christine Lucas is our lead nurse

She specialises in diabetes, COPD, asthma, hypertension, contraception, travel, dressing, etc.

She has been with the practice over 10 years.

Laura is our Practice nurse

She works Wednesdays and Fridays. She specialises in COPD, Ashtma, Cardiovascular disease and contraception.

Laura has been with the practice 2 years.

Denise has worked at Roseworth Surgery since 1998 she left in 2000 for 1 year and returned in 2001 as office coordinator, she moved upstairs as Administrator in 2010 and became Assistant Practice Manager in June 2018. She enjoys spending time with the family and loves her 2 dogs and cat.

Christine works closely with GP partners and other health care professionals and has responsiblity for the business side of running and developing the Practice as well as day-to-day management.

Christine joined the Practice in February 2011, she has worked in the NHS for 8 years and her speciality is service improvement and delivering quality. She is keen to engage with patients and particularly welcomes feedback about the service we provide.

Our reception team are your first port of call with our Practice and they will try and meet all of your requirements. The advice they give is on the instructions of the GPs. Similarly, any questions they ask are designed to try and give the patients the best possible service and information.

They are tasked with ensuring that you gain access to your doctor or relevant health care team member and, in addition, they also handle the large administrative workload which accompanies your treatment.

Lauren enjoys working for the NHS and her hobbies consist of spending time with her 4 sons and being outdoors.

Marie previously worked at North East Primary Care Services for 24 years as a Patient Information Assistant then joined Roseworth Surgery in 2015 as a Receptionist. She enjoys socialising, baking and shopping.

Megan is currently studying Sociology at Newcastle University and works part time here at Roseworth.

Hobbies consist of spending time with friends and family.

Lucy joined the surgery 2017 as an apprentice and was offered a full time position as receptionist in 2018 which she gladly accepted. She enjoys travelling and visiting friends and family.

Lucy is the non clinical carers lead at Roseworth.

Fay joined Roseworth in June 2018 as a receptionist/administrator. She previously worked in a pharmaceutical role for Boots,

She has 2 sons ages 7 and 2 and loves family time together and cooking.

Kelly is relief secretary and receptionist. She has a varied background in customer service. Her hobbies include spending time with her family and friends, eating out and travelling.

Lindy previously worked in customer service roles and joined Roseworth Surgery in 2010 working as reception/administration. She took on the role as medical secretary full time in June 2018. She enjoys exercising, travel, shopping & family life.

Alison is the midwife attached to the Practice. She provides care and advice to newly pregnant mums both during pregnancy and after birth. She can be contacted via the surgery on 0191 2132392 or her base number 0191 2823528.

The ante-natal clinic is held each Monday by appointment from 13:30 to 16:00.

The district nurses are based at Kenton Clinic and provide home nursing care for patients who are unable to attend the surgery.

They can be contacted via Kenton Clinic on 0191 282 3664 and are available from 08:30 – 17:30.

Emma is a trainee counsellor, studying integrative counselling and psychotherapy at Northern Guild in Jesmond. As part of her training, Emma is completing a placement at Roseworth Surgery. Emma is able to provide counselling for a range of emotional problems, challenges and difficulties. Any patient who feels they would benefit from counselling can speak to a GP at the surgery, and request a referral to the counselling service.
